endless raub

i spent my infancy at raub, pahang. just round the corner is bentong. raub is a lot nicer cause there are fewer people.

there are no local delicacies in raub. neither is there anything nice to eat in bentong. might as well add kuala lipis to the list. all hopeless. the only thing people talk about in raub is the sempalit chicken. whatever, can't have that to eat everyday right? so if no one at home is good in the kitchen, you'll be crying.

other than that, the surroundings in raub are wonderful; even when the communist were still roaming the countryside.

nice cool air to sleep in; not so comfortable with the loud crickets and toads. it seems the amount of noise made by the crickets vary with the temperature; the warmer it is the higher the frequency. so why are they annoying with the cool air at raub? it's not the rate they chirp, it's the sheer number of them that drives a person unaccustomed to the cacophony insane. the toads add an irregular beat which sounds so annoying. just like listening to britney spears.
